A great story about one of the first female computer programmers, A Technical Camelot. I think I may have seen Jean’s image, standing next to the ENIAC when I was taking my computer history classes as an undergraduate. In class I learned that women did most of the programming– they were presented as, like, secretaries of the machine (hardly!).
But Jean articulates her experience much better than I could. This was a great piece of nearly lost history to come across.
